Hi! My name is Kara.
I am the creator of Contemplative Methodist,
and the pastor of Weston United Methodist Church in Weston, a small town north of Kansas City, Missouri. I am an ordained elder in the United Methodist Church.
I am currently in training to be a spiritual director as a practicum student at the Souljourners Program for Spiritual Formation in Atchison, Kansas, which is based in contemplative-evocative Benedictine spiritual traditions.
Contemplative Methodist exists as a dedicated space to integrate spiritual formation from the Methodist movement and the Benedictine monastic tradition and to be a front door for spiritual direction inquiries.
I began this website as Incorrectly Christian, a side project to connect with friends from The Chapel after it ended and to keep me occupied as I finished grad school and changed jobs. Now it is a little corner of the internet where I offer spiritual direction services and post some of my writings.
